What to put on your homepage
Your homepage is often the first page a new customer sees. Keep it simple. A visitor should quickly see what you do, where you work and how to reach you.
The must-haves
- Your business name at the top.
- What you do, in one short line. For example: "Plumbing repairs in Chatham-Kent."
- The area you serve, so people know you can come to them.
- Your phone number, big and easy to tap on a phone.
- One clear button, like "Call now" or "Book a visit".
Good to add
- A short list of your main services.
- Your hours.
- A few lines about you. People like to know who they are hiring.
- Real photos of your work. Ask first before you use photos of customers or their homes.
- Your email, if you check it often.
Keep it easy to read
- Use short sentences and plain words.
- Check how it looks on your own phone. Many visitors will see it there first.
- Make sure your phone number and hours match your Google Business Profile.
Leave out
- Long blocks of text. Put extra detail on another page or in a blog post.
- Old prices or old phone numbers. Wrong details send people somewhere else.
When something changes, update your homepage the same day.
